Coporex Colorado to build new hotel, conference center at Fitzsimons Village
Corporex Colorado, LLC, a fully integrated developer with expertise in hotel, office and residential projects, is building a full-service hotel and conference center at its Fitzsimons Village mixed-use development in Aurora. The $90 million development project, which includes a 245-room, Hyatt full-service hotel and 30,000 square foot conference center marks the next phase of the Fitzsimons Village development to meet a growing demand for hospitality services by the city’s health care and bioscience industry, specifically the Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Life Science District.
The site is home to several world-class health care facilities including Children’s Hospital Colorado, University of Colorado Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Hospital (currently under construction), and many highly specialized centers and institutes of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The Magnet designated Medical Center of Aurora is also within the city. The result is an influx of patients seeking high-quality treatment from around the country and the entire globe.
Fitzsimons Village is a mixed-use development located directly south of the Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Life Science District at Colfax Avenue and I-225. Phase I consists of a 150,000 square foot Class A office building with 16,000 square feet of retail space, a 153-room Springhill Suites by Marriott and a FirstBank branch. Joining the full-service hotel and conference center will be a seven-story, 208,000 square foot Class A office building. In addition, there is more than 20 acres available for further development of office, research, retail, and residential opportunities.
The project will include a multilevel parking garage with approximately 503 spaces and is expected to to be completed in 2016.
