Vibrant Art Experiences
The Aurora Cultural Arts District is a 16-block area in the historic commercial corridor on East Colfax Avenue that features arts spaces like Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA) and Red Delicious Press; The People’s Building, a cultural center and art gallery; and a thriving performing-arts scene by Vintage Theatre and the Aurora Fox Arts Center; and the annual Colfax Canvas Mural Festival. This district was created to attract and incentivize arts-related uses in the area to spur economic revitalization and benefit area residents. This district is a certified Colorado Creative District.
Aurora is also known for its locally focused experiences, food halls, global eateries, and summer festivals and markets. Residents and visitors can support art and help Aurora continue delivering exceptional cultural experiences by interacting with Aurora’s many artists and culinary professionals.
In 2020, nearly 70% of Colorado adults attended a visual or performing arts event, and 40% personally performed or created artwork in the same time frame. Suffice to say, people in Colorado interact with art and entertainment in some capacity. Aurora has it all including a plethora of public art at The Aurora Highlands and in the Havana Business Improvement District.
