We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Joe McCleary, a dedicated leader, passionate mentor, and a valued member of the AEDC Board. As the Chief Business Officer of the Colorado Golf Association, Joe has spent the last six years driving forward initiatives that empower youth, foster community engagement, and build meaningful opportunities through the game of golf.
One of Joe’s most impactful efforts is his leadership at CommonGround Golf Course, home to the Solich Caddie & Leadership Academy—a program that embodies what it means to create change from the ground up.
Founded in 2012, the Solich Academy is more than just a caddie training program. It’s a two-year journey that provides underprivileged youth with hands-on experience, personal development, and lasting mentorship. Through the art and discipline of caddying, young participants gain more than just a skill—they build character, confidence, and leadership that carries with them far beyond the course.
From leadership meetings to community service with local partners, students are encouraged to grow both on and off the green. Upon completion, these young leaders are placed into established caddie programs across the Denver Metro Area, setting them up for success in every arena of life.
Joe’s vision, paired with the support of the Colorado Golf Association and the unique platform provided by CommonGround, has created a lasting legacy that continues to shape the lives of countless young people.
Thank you, Joe, for your commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community—one caddie at a time.
